Winter is nature's long sleep, snow insulates life, but Canadians flourish, making the most of the cold season, true to their nature. Trusting the ice, the community gathers to greet the frozen landscape with kite skiing, snowmobiles and of course, those ice huts dotting the frozen bay. There's always time to shovel later!

Monika Shepherdson is located in Ontario, Canada, and is a self-taught, Canadian visual fine artist who captures the vitality and energy that surrounds us each day in both real and abstract concepts.
