This cabin has quite the history to it. It is located on the southeast corner of Mapleview and Huronia, at the south end of Barrie, north end of Innisfil. The property belongs to the Ministry of Natural Resources from what I have learned, and it was well used in days gone by. Now, it stands empty and teetering on the verge of collapse from the tall trees around it. Nature will ultimately take back what is hers. It was fun to paint it, while some local boys played inside using their teenage imagination. They came over to see what I was doing and later remarked how they just loved the little painting and the history it represents.
Monika Shepherdson is located in Ontario, Canada, and is a self-taught, Canadian visual fine artist who captures the vitality and energy that surrounds us each day in both real and abstract concepts.
